Created Unassigned: Have an option to disable a remapping [11844]

Right now I have a remapping that works well on my laptop, but prefer a different mapping when using an external keyboard.

Is there any way to have SharpKeys temporarily "disable" a remapping so you can turn it on later?

Created Unassigned: Locked out of computer [11846]

I was trying to test out my new key maps, so as always I restarted my computer. When I tried to log in I input my password and it didn't work. I realized my password contained the new key mappings. I tried to use the opposite key (to which the original letter was mapped to) and that did not work either. I am using a windows 7 computer running on bootcamp on a MacBook Pro. Is there any way to restore the key mappings or disable sharp keys without being able to actually log in to the computer?

I second this; I need to remap a key on an Apple keyboard to Pause/Break and don't see it in the list. I plugged in a regular Windows keyboard and hit Type Key and SharpKeys detected Num Lock.

Created Unassigned: Reprogrammed keys not recognized in BIOS [11865]

My down arrow stopped working, so I used Sharpkeys to swap the functions of the right ctrl & down arrow. This worked beautifully, but my main reason for needing the down arrow was to change settings in BIOS, and ctrl is not recognized as the down key in the BIOS.

Is there any way to around this issue to make it be recognized in BIOS?

So I got SharpKeys and got it running, went into edit and chose the 'map this key', but under the selections for 'to this key' I don't see the em-dash (alt code 0151 for those who are interested). Is there a way to add one that's not on the list?

Hello,

I've got a Logitech keyboard with a special "power" botton, which I use frequently.
I've bought a new keyboard that hasn't, so I tried to remap this key on it, but the standard power key code (E0_5E) doesn't work for my PC.
So I tried to get the precise code of the Logitech power key, but I can't get it via the standard "type key" function (when I press the power key nothing happens).
Is there a way to map a "power" key to a keyboard that lacks it?

Hi, I'm using a standard PS/2 keyboard and it doesn't have shortcut buttons like my last keyboard to control the volume settings.

I'm wanting to remap the NUM + to Volume Up, the NUM - to Volume Down and NUM . to Mute but not sure how to do this using the SharpKeys software.

I'm wandering if anyone can help me with this, thanks,

Is there a way to map these codes to standard keys so I can toggle between the key "B" producing the letter B and the russian equivalent, and toggle back to the standard assignments?

I used SharpKeys for mapping my right ctrl-key on my Logitech K740 Keyboard to the “menu” (aka “context menu”) command. That worked well, but I got another unwanted effect. The “word-jump functionality” – the combination of ctrl and left/right arrow has been damaged somehow and I can no longer press ctrl and left/right arrow in order to jump one word ahead (or back) in any application.

After hours of troubleshooting I have come to the following conclusions:
  • The problem only seem to affect my windows user. At the windows login screen the word-jump functionality works. If I login as another user the word-jump functionality behaves correctly.
  • Ctrl+shift+left/right works as it should for word-jump+making selection.
  • If I change the physical keyboard I still have the same problem.
  • I have the same problem if I in the control panel installs/runs another keyboard and input language.
If anyone can give me help or guidance I would very much appreciate it.

Problem solved!
It turned out not to be a ShapKey-issue. The application "Toastify" was running in the background doing strange stuff with the ctrl key.

Few months before I could not use my laptop key 'n' somehow. there was no effect by pressing it. Since I came across to the SharpKeys application and installed it. I tried to map n key. but it did not worked. I thought it might physical issue. But when I tried external keyboard, which also not performing anything. I tested keyboard on another machine where it is working perfectly fine.
After that I tried to remove SharpKeys application from laptop. restarted it, but didn't worked. My understanding is SharpKeys must be registering key mapping somewhere in windows registry. How can I remove this registry entry. SharpKeys is uninstalled totally from machine.
How can I make 'n' key effective ?

Most laptops have short keyboard, i have one of them.
I need key "pause break"! OS virtual keyboard is not usability and I wanna renap the key "Mute" to "Pause break", but can't find that key on the list. When I try define key automaticaly (press key "Type key" and then press "Pause break" on virtual keyboard) SharpKey says "Key is not disabled".
Do you have any solutions?

PS: sorry for mistakes, it's not my native language.

Rated 5 Stars (out of 5) - Its a great program. But I hope it updates its database for keyboards with unique keys (my keyboard for example, the Genius Manticore). I want to change the volume up and down buttons to the prev/next track buttons, but those keys aren't registered in SharpKeys' database. I only get the message, "You've entered a key that SharpKeys doesn't recognize." Please update this further. Solid idea and solid performance otherwise.

A year ago, the zero on the )0 key stopped working. (The ) still works.)
I swapped keyboards. No change, so it is something in Windows.

I used Sharpkeys to remap my Num 0 to )0 and recovered use of the zero but lost the use of ).

I put up with this because at the time, I needed 0 much more than ).

But recently I've been doing some MS Access programming and I want ) all the time.

So I have started looking for the underlying reason. So far drawn a blank.

Can anyone tell me what Registry key to fix to get my )0 fully operational again?

Hi all,

I habe a Keyboard for my WindowsMediaCenter.
On this Keyboard isnt a Green-Button for the Startmenü from the WindowsMediaCenter.
The ShortCut ist Alt+Windwos+Enter.

I have a Button for WindowMediaPlayer (WMP)

Question:
How can i make the Button form the WindowsMediaPlay fort the WindowMediaCenter?

SharpKeys dosent know the key from WindowsMediaPlayer and dosnet know the Key from WindowsMediaCenter.

Can anyone help me pleas?
